- What does it do?
The British Red Cross is a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that helps people in a crisis and in the aftermath. Its focus includes: emergency response; providing first-aid training; health and social care provision; and working with refugee and vulnerable migrant groups.
- How does it interact with children and young people?
As well as providing services, it aims to inspire and engage young people as volunteers and as first aiders. Its young people's service managers work with schools and other organisations to promote humanitarian values and support young people in crisis.
- Where is it based?
The headquarters are in Moorfields in the City of London, and it also has 330 shops in the UK. The British Red Cross divides the UK into four regions. Roles are available in a range of areas, including communications, fundraising, HR and education, and strategy and implementation.
