2015 will be consumed in the campaigning and unpredictable aftermath of one of the most unreadable general elections in living memory, with more parties in contention for gaining an influential share of seats at Westminster than ever before. It will also be the first election fought under the new regulations created for civil society introduced by the terrible Lobbying Act 2014. Hopefully, it will also be the last.
I would encourage the sector not to feel inhibited in speaking out on behalf of children, young people and families. With poor families all over the country facing swingeing benefit sanctions, evictions, homelessness and "heat or eat" dilemmas, there is far too much at stake for the sector to be silent over the plight of vulnerable children and families, and the policies we think should be adopted.
