Tackling unemployment

Every young person is different, but the support we're offered when job hunting often doesn't address that.

As a young person struggling to find employment, I have first-hand experience of how difficult it can be to find work. I needed guidance but I kept hearing the same advice again and again.

Instead I decided to volunteer, and now I'm using my experiences to help create a new website, due to be launched in November, called Lifetracks.com. I've been volunteering with young people who are completely different to one another, which highlights the variety of skills young people have, but also the variety of barriers they face. We've been telling YouthNet, one of the charities behind the website, how they can make sure the project recognises individuals' needs.
