Substance misuse: Rainer to expand mentoring scheme

The mentoring service, which works with 98 young people aged 13 to 18, is set to expand into the rural areas outside of Leicester and widen its remit to cover young homeless people, those affected by parental drug use, teenagers excluded from school and juvenile offenders.

The expansion is being funded by the drug and alcohol action teams in Leicester, Leices- tershire and Rutland.

Olivia Pitt, service co-ordinator for Rainer Leicester, said: "We will offer mentoring to young people in a localised way."
