Aberdeenshire Council is working with the charity to run a one-stop shopfor young people aged 12 to 18. The Lloyds TSB Foundation is helping tofund the 200,000 initiative.
It comes after youth workers in Aberdeenshire found that many youngpeople with drug problems had alcohol problems.
Director of Barnardo's Scotland Hugh Mackintosh said: "Sadly, we'verealised that there is a growing need to help young people with seriousalcohol, drugs and solvent problems."
The initiative, called Gemini, will operate from three bases inAberdeenshire with four project workers. They will deal with youngpeople on an individual basis as well as in small, school-based groups.
