Students learn how to handle money

Youth Work
The Bolton Lads and Girls Club has created a project to encourage financial training in schools.

The club's enterprise team has set up the Financial Literacy Challenge competition to make Year 10 and 11 pupils aware about the importance of managing their money properly.

The team invited all local schools in the Bolton and Bury areas to compete against each other for the 'Bankers Trophy'.

Philip Burke, enterprise co-ordinator at the club, said: "The team noticed that young people do not always have a basic awareness of their money and felt that this was essential knowledge for those who were about to leave school."
