Sport: Football scheme to address behaviour

Kickz will launch this month with funding from the Football Foundation and the Home Office. It was developed by the FA Premier League, the FA, the Football League and the Metropolitan Police Service and Metropolitan Police Authority.

The projects, which will eventually open across all Premier League and London Football League clubs, will offer football coaching, cup competitions and leagues, educational resources and will encourage older teenagers to volunteer.

The Home Office said the scheme was the first to arise from the 2m the Chancellor announced in the Budget would be given to the Football Foundation to invest in club projects to tackle antisocial behaviour (YPN, 29 March-4 April, p3).
