Spending Review - A call to action: Practitioners outline manifesto for the future of youth services

2 mins read

The call came in response to Young People Now's recent Joining Up conference about the future of young people's services under children's trusts (YPN, 16-22 June, p18).

Delegates want the youth minister to address their concerns when money is allocated to services in the imminent spending review.

YPN has formulated a 10-point manifesto (see opposite) reflecting the views of professionals and has sent it to the youth minister as a call to action.

Practitioners in all sectors of work with young people are concerned that the needs of young people will be subsumed under a child-protection agenda in the spending review and under children's trusts.
