Social Work: Dawson to re-enter care workforce

Hilton Dawson, the campaigning Labour MP who is standing down from Parliament, has confirmed he is to re-enter social work.

Dawson, a qualified social worker, will start off doing agency work and will also spend some time working for the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service.

He told Children Now: "There's a huge exciting new world of children's services to be developed and change that needs to take place over the integration of services.

"These are enormous changes but they won't be addressed in Parliament. They will be addressed on the ground and I want to be a part of changing things."
