It is one of 26 pilots in England selected to provide activities for disengaged young people to reduce social exclusion and help tackle health issues such as teenage pregnancy.
Chris Lee, project development manager at Havering Motorvations, which has been awarded 130,000 for three years, said: "We have been helping young people develop skills in the motor industry. We had been delivering informal education on sexual health with outside workers, but the funding will mean we can structure our work into a daily routine."
Havering Motorvations has a basic skills tutor from the local education authority based on-site four days a week. From Easter it will deliver sexual health lessons for young men through an organisation called Be Wise.
