Margaret Hodge, minister for young people, recently paid a visit to Havering Motorvations, a pilot project for the Young People's Development Programme, based in her Romford constituency.
Havering Motorvations is a project for young people who are either deemed disengaged or at risk of being disengaged from mainstream provision, offering training and accreditation in motor mechanics.
Chris Lee, development manager at Havering Motorvations, said: "We are pleased that she seemed impressed by the work we do and especially by the achievements of our young people."
The Young People's Development Programme offers young people aged 13 to 15 years an integrated programme of education and training opportunities. The NYA is the training and co-ordination agent for the programme.
