The project, run by charity NCH Wessex, was one of three schemes announced by the Home Office last year (Children Now, 24-30 November 2004).
An information session for people interested in becoming intensive foster carers will run in Southampton, as will sessions for professionals working in criminal justice and welfare.
The Wessex community project already has two young people on the scheme.
Darren, aged 16, who has been in and out of foster care and children's homes all his life and is currently under a two-year supervision order, said: "This is the best programme I've ever been on."
