Staff at Caerphilly County Borough Council are being given advice and support from Gwent child psychology services to help them tackle their cases from a different perspective.
"Child clinical psychologists help the social workers reflect on their practices," said a Caerphilly council spokesman.
The service includes monthly consultation meetings, a weekly telephone advice line and psychologists sitting in on family review meetings.
