13.4% of looked-after children had three or more placements during 2004/05 (10.5 per cent in Wales)

- 27.8% of 16-year-olds left care with at least one GCSE at grade A*-Gor with a GNVQ in 2004/05 (42.1 per cent in Wales)

- 91.9% of children on the child protection register had their casesreviewed on time during 2004/05 (81 per cent in Wales)

- 331 average gross weekly spend on children in foster care in2004/05 (344 per week in Wales)

The last inspection of Swansea's child protection services by the SocialServices Inspectorate for Wales in 2003 found that the authority and itspartners had a wide range of "imaginative and flexible" services forchildren in need and their families.
