Falkirk has a low rate of looked-after children compared to the rest ofScotland and has a high rate of looked-after children living with fostercarers. Together with Barnardo's the council runs Cluaran, amulti-disciplinary project designed to find alternatives to careplacements for children. Falkirk has a high rate of child protectionreferrals but the percentage that proceed to case conferences islow.
