The executive's 4m package will help provide training for carers.They will be able to claim up to 1,000 towards training,including approved childcare-related courses. The funding will coverassociated training costs like childcare. There are also plans for aone-stop information and advice service for kinship carers run byCitizens Advice Scotland.
Child-friendly advice and information for foster carers and children offoster carers will be developed and councils will be trained in the useof permanence orders, which allow children the right to settle withfoster carers permanently.
The Scottish Executive will establish guidelines for dealing with abuseallegations and there will be funding for a review of nationalguidelines on the recruitment and training of foster carers.
