The Scottish Institute for Residential Child Care has published new guidance on the physical restraint of young people.

The document, Holding Safely, is aimed at residential care practitionersand managers.

Jacquie Roberts, chief executive of the Care Commission in Scotland'said: "We want services to use best practice in relation to thissensitive area of work, and we welcome the guidance regarding inparticular the recording and monitoring of all incidents when childrenor young people are physically restrained."
