The charity has opened a helpline and produced boys' and girls' leaflets to be distributed to agencies working with children and young people, as part of Beyond the Shadows.
The first phase of the campaign, which got under way a year ago, has been to raise awareness among professionals in social services, health, education, housing and the police.
"A lot of people were in denial and thought we didn't have this issue, partly because it isn't a street issue," said a spokeswoman.
"They were really surprised it was going on at all and first we had to say 'there is no reason why it wouldn't happen here'. The stretch of water that separates us from England and Scotland would not stop this."
