Social Care News: Northern Ireland - Figures on care leaversreleased

The first figures on former care leavers in Northern Ireland were published last week.

The figures for 2003/04 show that 72 per cent of 19-year-olds remainedin contact with social services after leaving care. This is lower thanthe rate for English councils where 85 per cent of care leavers kept intouch during the same period.
