The Fostering Network has been given 863,659 by the Big LotteryFund to set up the Leading Our Lives project.
A committee of four young people will be formed, three of whom have beenin care and one child of a foster carer. They will then work with otheryoung people who have been fostered and come up with views on keyissues.
The grant will allow the young people to be trained in areas such assetting up fostering panels, dealing with the media, and how toparticipate in social care inspections.
Ena Fry, children and young people's development worker for theFostering Network, said: "It is very important in terms of giving us theopportunity to make sure young people have their voices heard when theyare in fostering care or when they have left."
