An innovative new scheme to share information on victims of domestic violence has been introduced in Scotland.
The North Lanarkshire council scheme will allow police to undertake riskassessments of victims when they are called to incidents and pass theinformation on to agencies that can protect and support them.
The scheme, called Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferencing, was firstused by the South Wales police force.
The risk assessment includes gathering useful information from victims, identifying those who need more intensive support and making agenciesaware of the most dangerous offenders.
The scheme will be rolled out across the North Lanarkshire area over thenext year.
