Representatives from the campaign group met children's minister Margaret Hodge last week to push for a good practice guide to help social service departments deal with victims.
Hodge promised information on child trafficking would be fed into a new version of the guidance document What to do if you're worried a child is being abused, which is in the process of being revised as the Children Bill goes through Parliament.
Ecpat UK's campaign co-ordinator, Carron Somerset, said it made sense to adapt existing guidance that was already used and trusted.
