Social Care News: Child protection - Campaign to raise internetawareness

A campaign aiming to make a million children aware of the dangers of the internet was launched by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre last week.

The ThinkuKnow campaign, which is comprised of a web site and offlineresources, will cover topics such as social networking, gaming sites andchat rooms.

The site will also offer "safety first" advice and let childreninstantly report instances of inappropriate online contact to thecentre.

The campaign will be promoted in schools by more than 1,000 policeofficers, teachers and child protection teams.
