Social Care News: Adoption - Coram expands in agency shake-up

A shake-up among voluntary adoption agencies has led to a transfer of work from The Children's Society to Coram Family.

The East Midlands Children Resource Team, previously part of The Children's Society, has moved to become Coram Adoption East Midlands.

It is believed this makes Coram Family's adoption and permanent families service the third largest voluntary sector adoption agency in the UK, after Barnardo's and NCH.

Coram places around 60 children per year and expects this to increase to 75. The move means the charity covers a 30-mile radius of London, much of the South East, East Anglia and the East Midlands.
