Smart way into history: Chocolate art breaks Guinness World Record

Children from Calderdale have made it into the record books with this giant picture made from more than 100,000 Smarties.

The picture, which illustrates the witch's house from the fairy taleHansel and Gretel, was put together over a weekend. The resultingpicture will now be entered in the Guinness Book of Records for beingthe largest-ever picture made from Smarties. Ryan Duffy, developmentofficer at Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council, said: "Creating theSmartie picture was a fantastic experience.

Now each and every one of the children can say they are a recordbreaker." The picture was made up of 400 squares each of which had about250 Smarties stuck on them.

The event raised 6,000 for the NSPCC.
