Sleepover in the sky: Fundraising event aims to break world record

Three children settle in for the night ahead of a fundraising sleepover. Around 50,000 children are expected to take part in the fourth annual BT Giant Sleepover. The event will be held on 16 to 17 June and aims to raise more than 50,000 for ChildLine. Last year's event, pictured above, involved 33,093 participants, setting a Guinness World Record, and raised almost 35,000 for the helpline. The theme of this year's event, aimed at six- to 11-year-olds in the UK and abroad, is "Going Green". Children work out their carbon footprint through a specially designed online carbon calculator and debate the result during the sleepover through games and puzzles. To take part register at www.btgiantsleepover.com or call 0870 240 1640. It costs 20 for a group and 1 for a child.
