The prize focuses on projects that motivate young people and was presented at the New Learning Opportunities Awards in London on 20 May.
WORLDwrite offers a free, youth-led film facility and training programme and produces youth-made films.
The centre's assistant director Vivien Regan said: "Many of the young people have little sense that they could get on in further education.
As well as allowing young people to learn new skills, the film aspect of the programme means they can also express their concerns about local and global justice."
The award is sponsored by The National Youth Agency and the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education.
