The campaign is designed to help the government achieve its aim that by 2010 every teacher, trainer, tutor and instructor will either have a recognised qualification or be working towards one. The campaign is run by Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK), the sector skills council responsible for lifelong learning, and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
David Hunter, chief executive of LLUK, said further education colleges were generally required to provide their staff with training, although many may not currently be doing so.
