FE colleges need to prepare for reform

Education
The further education sector needs to up its game to prepare for the 14-19 education reforms, according to a strategy launched today (30 January) by higher education minister Bill Rammell.

The further education workforce strategy was developed with input from colleges, learning providers and trade unions, and co-ordinated by Lifelong Learning UK. It sets out a framework for recruiting and developing people who work in colleges and focuses on responding to the skills needs of employers.

Rammell called on the further education workforce to "move up a gear" to meet the demands of the education system such as the 14-19 reforms.
