Heritage Park Community School has 90 pupils aged seven to 16, all of whom have been excluded from other schools. At present more than a third of children become involved in crime shortly after leaving the Sheffield school.

Headteacher John Hill said: "A lot of the young people don't understand what it means to be involved with the police until it actually happens. We wanted to open up the school and bring on board those agencies that would help us support these young people and hopefully reduce crime."
