The Government is calling on schools to set up sexual health advice services to increase the number of young people seeking information.
The Department of Health issued a leaflet last week - Extended Schools: Improving Access to Sexual Advice Services, which backs the idea.
School-based services are particularly popular with under-16s, the group least likely to seek advice from services based in the community.
Anne Weyman, chief executive of sexual health charity fpa, said: "School-based services are ideal for removing some of the barriers young people face."
