Scouts introduce recycling badge

The Scout Association has introduced an environment badge to encourage its young members to conserve the planet's resources.

Young people working towards the badge will find out what happens to materials such as glass and paper when they are recycled. They will also have to take part in community clear-ups and help to recycle the materials.

The scheme has been launched in partnership with services company Serco, which helped develop a resource pack.
