The framework, which will also apply to the voluntary sector, will draw together all youth work training options available at different levels, and secure agreements between training providers so that consistent progression routes can be further mapped out.
The framework was agreed by more than 80 youth work representatives from the local authority and voluntary sector, as well as Lifelong Learning UK, the Scottish Executive and further and higher education.
YouthLink Scotland will set up a working group to plan the framework early next year, in partnership with organisations including the Scottish Qualifications Authority and Lifelong Learning UK.
