Scotland: Media encourages sexual activity

McConnell told delegates at the International Media Institute conference that broadcasters and newspaper editors had a responsibility to ensure their images do not push young people into sexual activity.

McConnell's comments followed the publication of statistics showing the number of abortions carried out on teenage girls in Scotland in 2005 reached its highest level in recent years.
