Scotland: Guidance aims to stop sectarianism

The pack includes a series of training seminars and accompanies a new web site providing youth workers and teachers with guidance, resources, ideas and good practice examples from youth organisations and schools.

A national conference is scheduled in June to promote and provide training on using the web site.

The pack was developed by a consortium led by the Centre for Education and Racial Equality Scotland, in consultation with organisations including Celtic and Rangers football clubs.

The initiative's 50,000 national roll-out follows a trial by youth groups and schools in five regions across Scotland. It coincides with the first meeting of a ministerial group on tackling sectarianism, chaired by justice minister Cathy Jamieson.
