Scotland: Foster carers to get higher allowances

The funding, announced last week by Euan Robson, deputy minister for young people, will go to local authorities to address Scotland's shortage of carers.

The Scottish Executive and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities will decide how the money is spent.

The Fostering Network has been commissioned to carry out an audit of Scotland's fostering services, which will be published in March next year.
