Scotland: Executive awards 5m to youth clubs

Youth clubs across Scotland are preparing to upgrade their facilities after the Scottish Executive handed out a 5m funding boost.

The cash will go to more than 200 organisations that bid successfullyfor a share of the Capital Improvement Fund.

They include Dundee North West Youth Work Team, which received 90,500 to fund the refurbishment of its building, while Wigtown YouthForum in Dumfries and Galloway received 56,000 to pay forbuilding repairs and outdoor equipment.
