The money will be used to set up four pilot projects in Edinburgh,Falkirk, West Dunbartonshire, and Dumfries and Galloway, which aim tobetter co-ordinate information-sharing and multi-agency working.
The pilot will include developing a unified approach to helping childrenaffected by domestic abuse, putting the children's needs at the centreof activities and providing advice on the single assessment, record andplan.
The projects will run over the next two years and could be expandednationwide if successful, said Scotland's deputy education and youngpeople's minister Robert Brown.
At a conference on domestic violence last week, he said: "It isimportant that agencies can respond to children in an appropriate,timely way."
