The cash has gone to 33 youth projects in Scotland, all of which are run by young people.
The Prince's Trust Scotland received £284,556 to allow young people aged 16 to 25 to take part in a vocational course aimed at providing an introduction to work. The programme is designed to improve confidence and skills in order to help young people move into employment, further education or training. The project will include work experience, careers advice, after-care and progression support.
A spokeswoman for the Prince's Trust Scotland said the cash would enable young people to find employment. "This money will help to change the lives of the young people in Scotland who need it most," she said. "Over the next three years, the money will go towards helping more than 600 disadvantaged young people into work and will give them practical skills in industries where there are skills shortages."
