"Promoting proportionate protection", defined by Kathleen Marshall as "balancing protection, fun, adventure and healthy relationships", is one of two priority areas she has identified for the next two years. The other priority area is improving provision for young people.
Margaret McLeod, YouthLink Scotland's head of development, said: "We need to protect young people, but we need to enable them to grow." The commissioner plans a brainstorming session with youth organisations to help her tackle the issue. She will publish the results early next month.
