The report found that 93 per cent of bus drivers wanted more training to deal with antisocial behaviour, including verbal abuse and drunkenness - which they mainly associate with 13- to 24-year-olds.
The executive's report also suggests that bus companies share information to help develop initiatives to stop antisocial behaviour and that guidance on training is provided to bus operators, detailing methods including how to resolve conflict.
The development of educational initiatives, including visits to schools, as well as the introduction of safety screens, are also among the recommendations.
