Being a We Are What We Do Young Speaker has helped me to become more confident and to be able to mix with other people a lot better.

I had never volunteered before or been involved in my community. I didn't really know that these things existed. Now I have spoken in assemblies and helped children think about the environment. I know that I have brought about change and it has opened up new opportunities in my life.

I want to go to college next year and I think that having been a Young Speaker will help me. I won't have any of my friends going to the same place and this experience of being more confident and having to meet lots of different types of people will really help. I feel much better about it.
