I have been involved with projects with The Children's Society since I was about 13.

When they asked me to go to Mali, in West Africa, to share my experiences with children there and learn something new, I was really excited and curious.

We explained our disabilities to the children out there and told them what we are entitled to.

It was a good and eye-opening experience. I learned about different cultures and a different way of life, like how they have to work.

I taught some arts and craft lessons and I was taught how to paint traditional African art by some children. I have never taught before and it was good. They were well-behaved and listened. It was very different to an English classroom.
