
I didn't revise for my GCSEs; all I wanted to do was to have a laugh with my friends and I left school and college without any qualifications.
I signed on for Jobseeker's Allowance for two months, during which time I did about 30 hours of voluntary work a week, so I felt like I was working for the money I was claiming - I loved it.
I was working in a community cafe in Whitehawk, my neighbourhood, and it got me used to the work environment and taught me how to deal with people.
My experience inspired me to go into youth work and through the youth employability service I was able to complete a youth work apprenticeship.
