The challenge
Liverpool Children's Services wanted to raise awareness of the Youth Opportunity Fund among local young people, to ensure they were engaged in the programme and had ownership of it.
The solution
The service decided to employ six young people to go out into local communities and raise awareness of the fund. Natalie Palin, the organisation's external funding and extracurricular programmes officer, says young people are best placed to generate interest.
"The whole philosophy of the programme is around youth participation; it's about young people being decision-makers," she says. "So we decided on six young people to spread the word about the fund."
