THE CHALLENGE

The national framework for youth volunteering, overseen by the recently established charity v, is built on two-person "v teams" hosted by local organisations, to plan local volunteering positions for young people and guide them to opportunities. For an organisation like Bolton Lads and Girls Club, the initial challenge lay in devising a strategy for extending its youth volunteering expertise into opportunities across the town.

THE SOLUTION

In compiling its application to v for funding to recruit one of the first v teams, the club already found itself in a strong position, due to its long history of working with young volunteers.
