Somewhere between 10 and 15 per cent of the population are left-handed.
Children and young people who favour their left have to put up with two main things. First, they have adults telling them to use their right hand for a task. Second, they have to cope with tools that are the wrong way round for them.
Talk about this. Why do adults encourage people into conforming? Young people who are not right-handed can be labelled clumsy or awkward. Is this fair? What might it do to your confidence?
