The Daily Mirror said David Beckham's new tattoo made him look "more like a soccer thug than the England captain". The Sun said he had gone from "fab to yob". What do young people think? A piece of body art doesn't change a personality - so why do some people react against it? The tattooist Louis Malloy said: "If people think David is a yob because of this tattoo then they are being bigoted." Do young people agree?

Talk about the appeal of tattoos. What makes a good one? If young people had one, what and where would it be? Is it important that they are permanent? Airbrush tattoos are temporary as the inks are just painted on top of the skin rather than injected into it like a permanent tattoo. What is the difference between henna body art and tattoos?
