The view of multicultural Britain varies, depending on where you live.
Latest figures show that 45 per cent of Britain's non-White population lives in London. The Office for National Statistics says 78 per cent of Black Africans and 61 per cent of Black Caribbeans live in London.
In contrast, some areas of the country have very few non-White ethnic minorities. Just two per cent of the populations of the Northeast and Southwest are from non-White groups. In Northern Ireland, the figure is one per cent.
Talk about the different experiences that this leads to. How different is being Black in Devon and Brixton? Some White young people in the Northeast have never spoken to a Black or Asian person their own age. How multicultural is that?
