1. The natural reaction to the approach of summer, long evenings and sunshine is simply to get outside and enjoy it. It's a chance for pure play, working off energy and enjoying the outdoors. Youth work favourites include treasure hunts and parachute games. Over coming weeks there will also be World Cup fever-inspired games of footie. Yes, it is more risky to take groups of young people outdoors. But the rewards are high for well-supervised activities. In any case, young people have a right to a safe place to meet - that doesn't have to be indoors.
